2020, the year the world stood still and almost helpless as COVID 19 rampaged the world. But Alas Christmas has come and there is course to celebrate.

President of the Federation of African University Sports (FASU) Nomsa Mahlangu in a statement wished the world a merry Christmas while also urging for safety and care during this season to reduce the spread of the pandemic.

To all supporters of University sports from South Africa and the beautiful African continent and our friends globally, let me take this opportunity to thank all of you for your contribution towards the sustainability of university sports through the years. Most importantly this year 2020, that has been difficult and challenging for us all but here we are, we are still alive, standing and healthy.

As we go into the festive season, let me wish each and everyone of you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2021, we look forward to a beautiful year ahead.

As we enjoyed the festivities, I would like to urge and request from all of you to sanitise, wear your mask, stay at home if you don’t have to go out and most importantly let’s all stay safe and be responsible towards each other.
