ABOUT THE GAMES
Organized every two years, the All Africa University Games (FASU) draws its strong history all the way back to 1951. Drawing the inspiration from the bilateral annual sports competition hosted between the University of Ghana and the University of Ibadan, Nigeria.
FASU boasts over 4000 participating athletes from countries all over the African continent competing in 15 sports over a span of 5 days. The games include: Athletics, Badminton, Basketball (3×3 and 5-a-side), Billiards, Chess, Football, Handball, Karate, Netball, Rugby 7s, Snooker, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis and Woodball. Three extra sports – namely Rollerball, Snooker and Woodball – shall be played for demonstration purposes.
“Our student-athletes, coaches, and staff are excited and full of positive energy to compete and give their best performance possible. We are all proudly representing AUC, one of Egypt’s and Africa’s most prominent universities. I wish all our athletes great success. Go Eagles.”
